harvesting!

Yesterday was the first day of some real harvesting for dinner, we had beetroot to start, baby carrots and peas for main, rhubarb with a few strawberries and rasberries for pudding and prepared salad for todays lunch - so tasty! May have a problem with the tomatoes, we have leaf mould and they're not looking too happy especially as I think they had a bit of the vine weevil problem too, I gave them some tlc yesterday and am hoping to see a bit of improvement otherwise the plans for lots of tomato sauce will not be going ahead!

Hmm - rhubarb crumble - I have only recently become a fan.... sounds like the crops are growing well - apart from the tomatoes! My colleague's tomatoes haven't even flowered yet!!

all i need to say is yum - and i cannot wait until next summer when we will be doing the same.

mom:

showed Aunty Pat your blog and she thinks it's great. Loved the latest photos with the sweetpeas.

Oh to have a garden! Someday I hope to be able to blog all about gardening instead of just stalking those bloggers who blog about gardening.

Claire:

The bag is gorgeous, do you take orders ?
BTW Ive been trying to explain to Paul about a designer called Sarah Jane Brown - google her - she does wire knitted sculptures - Ive got a few - thought you might like them and they fit in with the knitting theme.
Thanks for the beans - appreciated the string effect - v Jamie Oliver. Im a bit jealous of the sweet peas - my favourite flower - maybe when we get the garden sorted Harvey will grow some x
